A cold December night turned tragic when a homeless man had nowhere to turn with his dog. Shelters and metro systems don’t allow homeless to go inside with their pets. No where to turn, this man bundled up him and his dog and laid in the cold streets of Downtown Montreal. His shivering dog succumbed to the cold weather and passed away in his arms. This story shattered hearts of many, but for my sister and I, had opened our eyes that something needed to be done. We started a non profit organization called Palm to Paws. Set out on a mission to make goodie bags for the homeless and their animals. We started asking for donations/ sponsorships.. anything that can help. We had an overwhelming response from the communities. We made over 50 bags for the first run which consisted of blankets, tarps, dog food, dog jackets, dog boots, gift cards, food, hand/feet warmers etc.. our mission was to help those homeless people and their animals have a little more warmth and comfort on the nights where they had nowhere to turn.
We would like to personally thank SGH for their generous contribution to our cause. They donated 500$ which we had bought 25 McDonalds gift cards with. SGH, you have been able to give a helping hand to the community, and because of you, 50 people didn’t have to go hungry and were able to provide them with the means to eat, both for themselves and/or their animals. You have shown amazing leadership, and continuous support to our cause. We would like to personally thank you once more to have such an amazing team on board with us.
